Hamsters

There are three different types of hamsters

There are two kinds in the plains

And one kind dwells in the mountain

-from a native person from Elsë̱ndo ek rö̱o Terd

There are three varieties of hamsters (ra̱m in Mo̱d́ëṕö̭so, from native language ghām) in Elsë̱ndo ek rö̱o Terd.

The two types that live in the plains either sparkle or don't, and are listed under the same species. They burrow and stand in the grass to hide from predators, especially cats. Their diet consists of wheat and another type of grass that they can digest.

The one other type lives in the mountain and is listed as a different species than the plains hamster. They have thick fur and they eat berries, grass, and occasionally insects.

Some hamsters have been known to dig burrows containing 10,000 t́re̱na of food! Because of this, the people do not consider the hamsters to be in danger.

Domestication

Both the native and settlers have tried to domesticate hamsters. The natives put them in a large clay box, about 16bëx16bëx6bë (1536bë³). They filled the box with dirt, dead leaves, and worms, 2bë deep, and planted grass. Now the box can hold about 10 hamsters. The settlers tried a yard surrounded with wood.

The cost of a hamster is Sn 3.00.

Racing

Some people have tried hamster racing. Hamsters are put into lanes in a wooden track. The length can be as short as 8bë or as long as 100bë. Once there was a 20000bë race, with a full crew providing needs such as food, water, and sleep every 200bë. The first place winner finished in 3 hours.

Some have tried betting on hamsters. The government has no plan to ban this type of gambling.

Role in religion

The natives once ate hamsters, but the practice is obsolete. Hamsters are recognized as "cute" and are sacred in present day Ateśek religion.

Snakes

Most (99%) of snakes are harmless. Of the snakes that do harm, they created powerful disasters.

Since snakes eat hamsters and other rodents, the Ateśek despise them. They make sure that they stay out of their property by building traps (but hamsters could fall in too). They are working on a trap that snakes can fall in, but hamsters would be too light to fall.

History

Government and politics

The country's government is a monarchy.

The first monarch was Aë̱ren ek rö̱o Terd 1tas ek ra̱mox whom his thirteen future advisers nominated. According to legend, he was the only one that had the potential to rule any country. He was also famous for devising a writing system for Mo̱d́ëṕö̭so and making plans for houses and schools.

Economy

The currency of Ateśek is Sënëm, meaning gold. The government issues iron coins worth Sn 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.05, 0.07, 0.10, 0.15, 0.18, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60, 0.80, 1, 1.50, 2, 3, 5, and 10, and bronze coins worth Sn 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 70, and 100.

Everyone has to pay taxes in form of money, goods, or labor. These taxes go to fund services to the poor and disabled, and also help build roads, houses, and schools.

Demographics

Elsendo has the smallest population of any country in Daia. It has 247 people; about half are travelers from Flag of Country 24 Country 24.

Population

Population growth is 3.2% or higher. It is common for families to have seven or more children. This is probably due to the low life expectancy (55 - 65 years), a small population, and large food supplies (in forests).

The literacy rate is at approximately 55% (with noun declensions it drops to 13%), but is expected to move towards almost 100% due to 11 years of compulsory education and EDPPRE.

Culture

Not all of these need to be on your main page, at least - pick ones that are notable and relevant in your country.

Architecture

Many people of lower social classes have small wooden houses in the more crowded, poorer parts of Në̱nom D́e̱rek. However, those of the upper class have large houses made out of varied materials, and they are not crowded.

School of Flight

The ruler's plan is shown here.

The school's land should be 25,000,000bë2 in area. The school itself should be 600bë tall, 800bë deep, and 1000bë wide. There shall be ten exits in total, three on two sides and two on the other two sides. There are 30 floors in total. The first floor contains an office, a dining room, and a kitchen. The second through fifteenth floors are the classrooms, and the sixteenth floor up is the dormitory. Now let us discuss the stone court that rests on top of the building. It is accessible by ladders which induce fear in students and has the upper walls sloped such that more rain can come on the area of the stone court. The dimensions of the court is 600bëx300bë. In front of the school is a fountain and in the back is an island covered with soil and grass, about 10bë in diameter, surrounded by mud.

The typical student wakes up at five hours and a half after midnight, and classes start at seven after midnight. Lunch is half-hour before noon and classes continue at noon. Four hours after noon, the students are dismissed, to do homework. Halfway between noon and midnight there is dinner. Bedtime is two hours and a half before midnight, so the student can get eight hours of sleep each day.

Around the school area is a maze made from corn. wheat, and soy. There are apple trees, peach trees, all kinds of trees and bushes, and patches of vegetables.

Cuisine

Elsendo'ans consume plant foods, rather than animal foods, so their cuisine contains a lot of fruits and vegetables.

Sports

The official sport of Elsë̱ndo ek rö̱o Terd is Do̭dokë̱ke, or math.

Education

The government requires 9 years of education (starting with grade 1). The first 6 years are free. The next three years are for a low cost of Sn 500.00. Ë̱sd́o ek Elsë̱ndo ek rö̱o Terd may continue their education further. Anyone who does not go to school is executed (this is a special and powerful exception to customs) based on this formula:

Years of life = 5 × Years of Education + 3

There are many schools in Elsë̱ndo ek rö̱o Terd, some of which are for the best students:

  1. Mo̱d́ë ek E̱ra (School of Flight) No, they don't teach you how to fly, but this school is for the best students in the country. They expect to be finished at 0100.
  2. Mo̱d́ë De̱rümy̭s (De̱rümy̭s School)

The first two years of education, starting at age 2, have grade levels -1 and 0. They are free, but do not count towards the 9 years. They do count, though, in the equation.

The next six years are labeled 1-6, starting at age 4 and ending at 9, and they are also free. If you did not do well on the test, then you would be going to a bad school and walking a long distance to and from school. If you did average on the test, then you would have gone to an average school, and you would not have to walk such a long distance. If you did very well on the test, then you'd be going to Mo̱d́ë ek E̱ra and be well educated, but you wouldn't see your family until you've completed level 16.

The last three mandatory years labeled 7-9 are for ages 10-12. They only cost Sn 500.00 total, but families who can't afford them will have the government pay for the required years.

Years 10 through 16 (ages 13-19) are optional, so the government won't help pay the Sn 800.00 per year, unless you perform well at school or if you attend Mo̱d́ë ek E̱ra.

You might be able to continue your education from this point.

Measurements

A (foot) is a unit of measurement that equals 21.6 cm. A m̂ë̱res (half) is equal to 10.8 cm. A da̱da (finger) is 0.9 cm long. So areas and volumes can be written also. For da̱da, the volume measure (V=0.729cm³) has a special name: lë̱lëlḙ̈. A t́re̱na is the weight of 1bë3 of a wood (d=0.69g/cm3). It is equal to 0.322 kg. T́re̱na can be divided into tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc. A sënëm is the value of exactly 1 t́re̱na of apples.
