United Kingdoms
The Period of the United Kingdoms began with the unity of all three remaining Samarkainia's kingdoms in 445 CE. The ruling kings and queens signed the Treaty of Monarchs on March 3, 445 CE in Esolténnea. The official name of the new kingdom was United Kingdom of the Eye, the Sun and the Moon, or shortened into United Kingdoms. For equal position of all former kingdoms the royal families agreed that each province shall rule the entire kingdom for one lifetime of the ruling king or queen. This meant that a king or queen ruled the Kingdoms from the day he or she was crown until his or her death, no matter how long the monarch ruled. After the death, another province wield the sceptre of the United Kingdoms. It was a circle; the order was: Kingdom of the Eye, Kingdom of the Sun, Kingdom of the Moon. The United Kingdoms ended in 1183 AD with a revolution that established the Republic of Samarkainia.
Reforms
After a few years of the establishment of the United Kingdoms, the ruling king Vetlên Iśamán Sévrettē started reforming the existent rules. He decided to make this reforms to improve the living standard of the people and to make the Kingdoms more wealthy. Reforms took place in a period of 20 years. They are divided into nine groups. For each group to become fully official, all royal families had to agree on it. Therefore, each group of reforms was realized with a treaty, each one signed in a different city. Many of these reforms are still true today.
The Republic
On December 1, 1182 a small group of people went to the currently ruling queen Hásvy Omnéte Őmöte and gave her a book with signatures of the entire middle class and many from the lower class, demanding from her to abdicate and end with the monarchy. They wanted republic. Because the royal families had no real armies and almost all the population of the United Kingdoms wanted the change of the government, the ruling family called all other royal families and in a council that took place on December 20, 1182 in Esolténnea. After one week the royal families decided to let it go. On January 1, 1183 the ruling queen announced her abdication, the end of the monarchy and the establishment of the Republic of Samarkainia. Soon after that the parliament was created and took the government of the new state. This was the beginning of the Republic, the change is called a revolution, even though it was not an aggressive one.
Under the republic, life was quite calm and monotonous. The aristocracy was vanishing and the middle class was developing rapidly. Traders and bankers were becoming more and more rich, small farmers were merging into larger farm communities, enough food was produced and no-one was hungry. The government spent a lot of money to repair roads all over the country and some tunnels were built to make transit over the Fire Mountains easier and to avoid dangerous mountain passes which were often threatened and closed due to numerous earth-slides. The government also officially recognized the 12 provinces and languages of Samarkainia. The official religion became Olátvalalti, and the national anthem was changed. As new methods of farming appeared the agriculture was regularly modernised.
The Republic of Samarkainia lasted until June 11, 1755 when the government decided to make Samarkainia different from other countries, therefore it changed the government into meritocracy.
Meritocracy
On June 11, 1755 the current government of the Republic of Samarkainia made a decision and changed the government into meritocracy. Now, the official government is called constitutional democratic meritocracy and state is Country of Samarkainia. Whit this new order, the appointments and high-position jobs are given according to the talent that participants has demonstrated in the past. The highest body in the country is Country Wise Council of Samarkainia which collaborates with the Country Justice Council of Samarkainia. The official body the meritocracy is Country Meritocratic Council of Samarkainia. Two days after the change the first elections for the National Representative took place.
Education has now become the most important part of citizens' life. Schools are everywhere, every city has its own University uniting faculties of the city. The society now works completely different than before. However, it took a century for the meritocracy to fully operate because every aspect has had to be changed.
