From ConPlanet
The following table provides a list of species and subspecies present on Daia. Its purpose is to prevent unnecessary overlapping of chosen species between countries in case of endemic species.
Simple legend:
- English name - name of the (sub)species in English
- Latin name - the taxonomic name of the (sub)species for better clarification
- Habitat - country/region or continent where the (sub)species natively lives
- Endemic - mark with "yes" if the (sub)species is endemic to a specific country or a small defined region; if the (sub)species lives continentwise, then it's not endemic and mark it with "no"
- Native name - only in case of an endemic (sub)species, the name of the (sub)species in the native tongue of the country/region where the (sub)species lives
Note on the difference between species and subspecies: a subspecies cannot be recognized in isolation - a species will either be recognized as having no subspecies at all or two or more, never just one. If someone makes an entire species as endemic to their country, the species can have as many subspecies (two at least) as the person wants but it is not necessary to list all the subspecies in the table below as making the species endemic automatically makes any subspecies of that species endemic as well.
