Vösia is is a federation of five kingdoms that occupies the southern section of Talvia. The majority of the country shares a border to the North with Eperne; It is bordered by Hyldia, and Toitūkōlad lies south of it's borders.

Etymology

Geography

Situated in Southern Talvia, Vösia shares the most of the penisula of Talvia. With a land area of 353,484 square kilometers, Vösia is the smallest country on Talvia. It measures about 524 kilometers from north to south. It shares borders with Hyldia to the east, mirenzendack to the north. To the south, Vösia is bordered by Samarkainia. The Vösian landscape consists of rolling hills, with some mountains in the north. The highest peak in Vösia is Paltia at 1,322 meters found near the border of Hyldia.

Verscie lies between latutudes 48° and 55° N.

Forest covers more then two thirds of the country's area, the largest forested area in Qitharan. The forest consists of pine, spruce, birch, larch and other species. Verscie is the largest producer of wood in Qitharan, and among the largest in the world.

History

Socialism in Vösia

In the early 1940's Verscie suffered a depression in it's economy during this time Verszians wanted the government to take more responsibility to control the economy. Despite much protests by others, Verszians voted for a Socialist democrat leader.

During this period there was compulsory DNA tests were taken, those who defied were shot. The Verszian government campaigned it's imagined nation and it's eugenicists dream. Verszian's with a nithalosian haplogroup was ostracized from the Verszian culture even if the children's father or mother had Verszian DNA.

General Pinaz brought the Verszians together, and unified through the works and philosophies of Chaizlë. Pinaz was famous for stating that Verszians were the superior race as they came to this land and purged all the previous settlers. During Pinaz's reign, the advocation of blonde hair and red hair women being more desirable, meant that brown haired women were being selected against breeding, as they were considered lower class.

Pinaz died while in office in 1978, despite the fact that the democratic socialist party continued it followed a different path to that of Pinaz. Eugenics is still very much an important topic to Verszians today. free Voluntary DNA testing was stopped in 1981, though voluntary DNA testing clinics remained available and free of charge in some cities to citizens until 1998.

1980's

The early 80's was when the country was reformed to a democratic socialist society, where the general populace could elect a prime minister.

In 1984 genetics testing, tested to find the DNA of King Ariba, the king that bought Verscie together. It was discover that the King had a rare maternal haplogroup. Which was claimed to be the noble lineage. Nationalism, and a strong sense of cultural identity remained in many Verszians. By 1985 it was voted that Verscie would restore the Monarchy, under a constitution. This campaign costed Verszian's millions, till they found 85,000 people with the noble Haplogroup.

The king could not be decided due to so many verszians sharing the same haplogroup. The parliament decided that tenth cousins to the last king in power were eligible to become king, people that had the nobility haplogroup could attain a title, but could not become king. This then lead to the fact that the monarch had to be elected, and could only serve a 10 year term.

When the First monarch was elected in 1987, there was a strong movement for an independent Züri. While this became an issue to the new King, and Verszian parliament it was decided to make the Halsta-Züri region autonomous in 1988. By 1990 the Halsta-Züri region decided it would like to become a principality, in which it followed a similiar guideline to the constitutional for the monarch of Verscie. Thus Verszians that were related tot he noble lineage could become prince of Halsta-Züri or King of Verscie.

2000's

In the early 2000's famous Verszian, Matiö Linsen, became a spotlight in the multimedia. Linsen was famous for having asperger's syndrome. Though he was later named the most influential politican at the turn of the century. Matiö praised the idea of a mimalist government.

Government and politics

Vösia is a unitary constitutional elective monarchy with a parliamentary democracy. Vösia is a diarchy where there are two heads of state, where one governs Usimaa, and the other Vösia itself. Monarchs are also subject and can be held accountable to their actions.

The states manage the country's taxation, and funds the facilities and amenities. While paying a portion of taxes towards the country's limited government.

Vösia is a country with a constitution. The constitution is rarely amended, and can only be amended at the constitutional court of Vösiä. The kings of Vösia have no authority over the Legislative power of Vösia, other then to allow laws to be passed. Vösia has some controversial laws in place. Some include active euthanasia, where the government by law kills off, or aborts disabled people.

Economy

Vösia is an export-orientated market economy with leading industries in Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, and Precision instruments. Timber, Hydropower, gold, and Diamonds constitute the resource base of an economy heavily orientated to foreign trade.

Vösia maintains its own currency, the Vësiän kruna (VKA). The Vësiän Riksbank—founded in 1668 and thus making it the oldest central bank in the world—is currently focusing on price stability with an inflation target of 2 to 3%. The average inflation in Vësiä has been one of the lowest among Qitharan countries since the mid-1990s, largely because of deregulation and quick utilisation of globalisation.

The largest trade flows are with Hyldia, Samarkainia, and Ma-airexean.

Vösia is widely renown for it's prestigious luxury hydrogen cars, and hydrogen sports cars.

Energy

100% of the energy produced in Verscie is from Hydroelectricity. Though 30.4% of the electricity is produced from Run-on-river hydroelectricity. Vartaavesi co-owns the infamous suno-skaya conventional hydroelectric dam which helps power Aerien, and parts of Verscie. The suno-skaya dam was refitted in 2005 with 14 new "Virtanen" turbines which generate 1,200 MW. The Suno-Skaya dam generates 82TWh annually.

Agriculture

Vösia had a strong agriculture industry, however with the lax laws, and no protectionism; Vösia only produces 70% of it's needs whilst importing the rest. Though Vösia is still able to export Apples, Pears, Sweet Potatoes, Milk and Strawberries. Vösia still produces the most apples per capita, and export it's milk to Hyldia.

With just over 30 million people in Vösia.

Genetic evidence suggests almost 68% of Verszians migated from the northern regions of Kono Mai, and samarkainia in the last ice age. Verscie is the only nation that every citizen born before 1998 has had a compulsory DNA test. These DNA tests have found up to 45% of Verszians have the red hair gene, which is the largest trait then any other nations in qitharan.

Transport

Vösia has an extensive railway system. Most of the Vösien companies tend to use high-speed tilting trains, due to the rugged terrain in Vösia. Vösien companies spend more money in upgrading the quality of the train tracks found in the mountains. Though recently in the last decade, some Vösien companies have bought new train models, casting off the older generation trains to metro areas.
