Vereva (/və'ʁɛ.və/) or the Union of Verevian States (Weręwekkemwën (/"vəʁ.jɛ~və'kkəɱ.veɹn/) : Lindjerblau) is a country with a highly-dense population on Latelen. Sitting in the southernmost outskirts of the Kashdrav region, it borders the Rasoran Union to the north, and Country 11 to the west. On its long western and southern borders lies the Maipes Ocean, referred to as the Bogriai Ocean in Vereva..

Etymology
Weręwekkemwën originates from two words, "Kemwën" meaning "a union of city-states" and "Weręwe," shortened from the surname of the Verevian monarchs, "frem Weręwem," meaning "from Vereva," an city in Ancient Anderjam known today as the suburb of Palmeire. After Anderjam dropped its status a city-state and became a city, all the cities previously in its territory changed their names upon being adopted by Ąsje.
Geography
Vereva is the eleventh largest nation, having total area of 1,613,793 km² (623,089 sq mi). Politically, it is bordered clockwise by Country 11 to the west and the Rasoran Union to the north. On its eastern and southern borders lies the Bogriai Ocean.
A wide winding river named the Lilibeth River (Liliebęcstriem: Lindjerblau) provides a natural freshwater border between Vereva and the Country 11 to the nwest. To the northern Rasoran borders, Vereva is covered in the Enriwelelnhali, a chain of mountains and rolling hills. The most important natural landmark, the Vittaschtfaronhal volcano, lays about the edge of the mountain range, about 160km (100m) from the capital city Anderjam. The volcano is noted to be active, although it hasn't erupted since 997.
Topography
Vereva is divided into three topographical regions, with central region of Hanas acting as a barrier dividing Hassus to the northeast and Hatples to the southwest.
The Hassus region is covered in the mountain range Enriwelelnhali and with many small deciduous forests. The highest points in the nation are in this region whose lowest point is still some 50 feet above sea level. The Ąsje and Añdriana city-states cover this region.
The Hanas region runs along the central portion of Vereva, encircling Vereva's lowest valleys and most fertile plains at the foot of the Vittaschtfaronhal. All city-states have portions of the Hanas region within them, and the capital city Anderjam is also found in this region.
The Hatples region refers to the long tropical region stretching across the entire coast of Vereva. While various species of cacti, palms and small tropical shrubs are found throughout the country, they are most prevalent in this region. The region has many small hils and dramatic slopes, as well as large tropical forests and national parks.
History
The history of Vereva, as a union of city-states, is one that extends nearly two thousand years. The union has broken into independent states numerous times over the past two millenia, but have always come back together. Generally, historians agree that it has always been the national (but never official) religion of Vereva that has always reunited the city-states after often long and drawn-out civil disputes.
Established primarily in 197 to bring together the Alessajndrjan, Apfan, Anderjamite, Adelian and Asje-Kalbin peoples against would-be enemy invasion, it was devised by Xahl frem Weręwem I, a local hero in folklore and general of the small army in his native ancient Anderjam. Frem Weręwem I, a follower of the Fielosheim faith, the common religion of the area at the time, was said to have been led by divine force to unite the "Rjosdempapwëlos," or "People of Mature Understanding," as one nation, as prophecized in the biblical scriptures. This led toward his great praise within the community and his wide acceptance as the "Saljente", or "King sent to Latelen by the Gods to lead those who will it toward divine understanding." Frem Weręwem I and his descendents have stood as the political leaders of Vereva for nearly 2000 years.

Civil Feuds
Being a nation to have lasted since the 3rd century, Vereva has witnessed several civil feuds between city-states. Often, a city-state would secede from the union during a heated feud, sometimes not returning for several centuries. Secession from the union, however, is a matter perceived only to have significance to the city-state who would will it. When secession is decided one region, the national government has no right to challenge it under the Liberty Act. This has come up multiple times throughout Verevian history.
Government
In the beginning, Vereva was once a patriarchal absolute monarchy in that it only allowed men enter into the high position of unchallenged authority regardless to whether a woman had qualified better for the job. The king, called a Saljente, was traditionally the first born son of the former Saljente and would be coronated and assume position on the throne upon his 18th birthday. The laws governing who was appropriate for what position has since changed. While still an absolute monarchy under its male or female Saljente, it also allows other members of the royal family to hold high positions in city-states. Modernly, the eldest child of the Saljente becomes the new Saljente of the nation, and the younger children maintain heirdom to one of the city-states. The heirs traditionally inherit the political rights in their city-state on the basis of the name given to them at birth; which city-state they inherit is given on the Procession of Inheritance.
Vereva is most often under the complete control of the Verevian royal family, however, when the correct amount of heirs are not available, open elections are held for the political seat. The election is held the year before the youngest heir should assume the thrown and the election is held a week before the coronation. The elected official assumes political power on the day of the coronation and is relieved of it at the start of the next heir's term.

There are five city-states in Vereva, each having its own subnational form to the nationwide politics, culture and language. These city-states include Alesse, Añdriana, Ąsje, Apfe, and Adølie. Each city-state is led traditionally by a secondary member of the Verevian royal family, usually the siblings of the Saljente, who are allowed to oversee such things as governmental policies and regulations, inter-city-state relations, tax spending, and so on with the limit that their laws do not conflict with any national laws put into place by the Saljent him- or herself. Tertiary members, members of the royal family who are not children of the Saljente, usually provide lover level seats in the Verevian Parliament. Elected officials often, but not always, provide the lowest level of seats.
City-states often have laws and regulations that differ from the nation's as a whole. With the prerequisite that their regional legislature does not conflict with the national legislature, meaning laws and regulations can not be weaker, the differences may be vast.
Climate
Vereva has one of the warmest and most regular climates in Latelen, being close to the equator. The average yearly temperatures remain tolerable, ranging from 18C (65F) in the northernmost points during the winters, to 35C (95F) in the southernmost points during the summers.
Economy
The economy of Vereva is highly capitalistic, based primarily on its mining, machinery and machine tools, steel, automobile, textiles, telecommunications, creative, food processing, tourism, and ceramics industries.
Its exports include coal, steel, nonferrous metals, engineering products, energy products, motor vehicles, trasportation equipment, textiles and clothing, food, beverage and tobacco products, ceramics, and many goods within the creative and cultural economies.
Demographics
Culture
Verevian culture is influenced greatly by its national language and religion, as well as by its trade partners and geographical neighbors.
Language
The official language of Vereva is the Almsaundean language although the language is often percieved moreso as a language family, due to the distinct differences portrayed by the six official dialects. While the standard dialect, called Lindjerblau, is understood by all as a result of the Law of Anderjam, it acts very rarely as the language used in daily life by Verevian citizens. Collectively referred to as "Himptemspiekki," the other five dialects, named for each of the five city-states but not necessarily spoken only there, are used as daily languages.
Religion
The national, but unofficial, religion in Vereva is Fielosheim. While only 68% percent of Verevites consider themselves practitioners of the religion, a lower percentage often than other national religions, it has always played a major influence on the country, especially in its politics and inter-city-state relations. One everpresent point in Fielosheim is "Stinneln" or "permanence in everything that has aided towards the progression of the community." This religious pretext promotes the concept that whichever solution to a problem shows immediate, beneficial results and shows no bias toward either side of an argument, should stand permenantly as the solution to that problem until it is ruled obsolete, as opposed to archaic. Stinneln has become an important key point in Verevian culture. It has influenced the permanence of a monarchy going into its 76th generation as well as several punishments for crimes nearly two thousand years old. Arguably, it is said the Lindjerblau dialect has also been influenced by this. Despite having lost many noun genders, verb conjugations, and the dual, trial and quadrual numbers that were present in Ancient and Old Almsaunde, as well as having undergone two "Extreme Reforms" (mostly in spelling), the language's phonemic inventory, semantics, and grammar remain parallel to how they were or 2000 years ago.
Art
Architecture
Architecture in Vereva is based highly upon architecture common in the Pre-Verevian Era.
Due to zoning laws, modern architecture and classical architecture are to be kept separate in cities. Many of these laws were made to preserve the historical value of neighborhoods built hundreds of years ago. Often, the area of town designed with classical architecture will mark the legislative district of town, while the modern area will designate the financial district
